Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko fights as a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thailand fighter in the UFC's flyweight division. She is also the older sister of an earlier UFC Flyweight champion as well as co- UFC fighter Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko began her combat sports journey with a Muay Thai Kickboxer and debuted at the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko won the tournament and beat Suzane Miller in the finals via unanimity. Antonina's superior strike skills let her TKO Nievera via knees in the back of her. Antonina's UFC contract was extended following this victory. Antonina was offered a UFC contract following her victory. Shevchenko won the unanimous decision, but lost her second fight to Roxanne Modafferi via the split decision. Antonina rebounded from her loss to knock out Lucie Pudilova by choking her back in a rear-naked submission in the second round at UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned an extra fight in the evening for this bout. Shevchenko has a record of 1-2 over her next three bouts, winning against Ariane Lipski, while being defeated by Katlyn Clarkagian as well as Andrea Lee.
